Like many other urban areas, Savannah has lots of options for getting around! The closer you are to the Savannah River, the less likely folks are to use cars, and there are tons of alternatives to driving and parking!

Savannah is a Bronze Level Bicycle-Friendly Community (awarded by the League of American Bicyclists!)  With our original colonial plan, the Historic District is ideal for a stroll year-round! 

Chatham Area Transit offers 15 fixed bus routes in Savannah and Chatham County. Fares are set at a reasonable price, with local one-way services at $1.50. Discounted weekly and monthly passes are available!

The DOT  Shuttle is a fare-free service to help visitors and residents get around downtown Savannah. Included in the system are shuttles serving 24 stops in the Historic District and the Savannah Belles Ferry. Use the free shuttle from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m., Mon.-Fri.; 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
